Why Aren't Our Products From China?

Shen Yun Shop

Some may wonder why Shen Yun Shop products are NEVER “Made in China.” Don’t we celebrate Chinese culture?

We do, but there is far more to Chinese culture than geographical borders.

Long has the world been mesmerized by the mystical beauty and wisdom of ancient China—from powerful martial arts to the harmony of the yin-yang symbol. In ancient China, every color has a unique meaning, every flower its own history, and endless treasure troves of moving stories are always waiting to be told.

Inspired by this traditional Chinese culture and its revival by Shen Yun Performing Arts, the Shen Yun Shop’s artists are transcending time and place to create designs that are true to the spirit of ancient China. We share the belief that when an artist’s heart is pure, his work is blessed by the divine.

The ancient Chinese were confident that everything, even something as seemingly small and insignificant as a snowflake, is here to serve a predestined purpose. It is our hope that through our creations, whether it’s a simple peony print or an intricate phoenix pattern, we can show people the almost forgotten beauty and grace of ancient China, and perhaps bring a little bit of serenity and optimism to the hustle and bustle of this modern world.

Then where are our products made?

As Shen Yun fans know, the Shen Yun performances cannot travel to China because the communist government there has suppressed traditional culture and freedom of belief. Wearing Shen Yun Shop merchandise there could conceivably get you into trouble with authorities.

But in America, the “home of the brave” and the “land of the free,” Shen Yun and Shen Yun Shop have made their home and thrived. Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in New York, the very center of the American Revolutionary War, in 2006. Today, the Shen Yun Shop is proud to be an American company.

All of our products are designed in New York, and are made outside of China, in countries such as Italy, Taiwan, the United States, and elsewhere.

Despite all of the difficulties and hardships we’ve faced as a new company in a new land, we strive to bring you the best products in both quality and design. We hope by bringing home a piece of Shen Yun, people can keep the rich cultural heritage of ancient China forever in their lives and hearts.

I am from Mainland China. It is a pity that we, as a native Chinese, can’t watch Shen Yun in our homeland, and can’t buy these beautiful products. Nevertheless, I hope to tell you that once you can come to China, after the collapse of CCP, you will be the most popular brand in China. There are many many fans here. We love Shen Yun. The day is coming.

Shen Yun’S modern creation of an ancient tradition of wisdom that is ageless.
The divinity that is in each of us is demonstrated well by the capable performers. The joy of your performance is a power that cannot be measured.
